The Estate Sale is Not just for the Departed!

November 08, 2016

As a financial planner, I guide my clients through many of life's transitions.

I have more and more financial planning clients who are recent "Empty Nesters" and have no need for all the space in the home where they raised their children.  Many have taken it upon themselves to perform the difficult task of giving away or selling items utilizing online services and garage sales.  Personally, I can find many other ways to fill my time!  Some people have the knack for Craig's List and EBay.  I do not have that knack or desire!

If you are considering downsizing your home for any reason or moving and you are lacking in time, you may want to consider hiring a professional to stage your stuff and sell it!

Before you take the leap, consider the following:

Are you tired of doing the lawn or paying someone to landscape and tend to your yard?

Are you spending too much time worrying about a new roof, emptying the septic tank, or painting the house?

Are you feeling overwhelmed by all of the unused space, furniture and miscellaneous items in your house?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes, consider downsizing and all of the advantages that it provides:

  • Moving to a smaller, more manageable property.  Whether you move to a smaller home or condo/townhouse, you can reap the reward of selling your current residence.
  • Selling the barely used furniture, kitchen items, books, clothes, tools, and lawn equipment for a tidy profit to be used for that special something you have thought of through the years.
  • Starting a new chapter in your life with endless opportunities and choices.

Sounds wonderful doesn’t it?  But how can you achieve this and still maintain your sanity?  You hire a local company that specializes in this very thing.   Also, the company should be licensed, bonded and insured.

One example of such a company is Hidden Treasures Estate Sales, which is a full service liquidation company specializing in downsizing, estate, and moving sales.  They are licensed, bonded and insured and have a stellar reputation in the central Florida area.
